Help
Short answers to the questions people ask most. Anything not covered here: email support@neuralsignal.co.uk with your username and, if it is about a specific post or message, its link.
Getting started
Create an account with a name, a username and a password. An email address is optional but it is the only way to reset a forgotten password, so we suggest adding one. If a friend sent you an invite link, open it and the code is filled in; you both get free days of your plan once you join.
Home shows posts from everyone; Explorehas trends, search and people to follow. Following someone puts their posts in your feed and lets you see a private account's posts once they approve you.
Posts, reels and stories
- A post takes up to 500 characters, up to four photos (JPEG or PNG), a poll of 2–4 options, and can quote or reply to another post.
- A post with a video (MP4 or MOV) is a reel and appears on the Reels page as well as in the feed. Use “New reel” on the Reels page or the video button in the composer.
- Stories last 24 hours: a photo, a video, an audio clip over a colour, or text on a background. You can see who viewed yours, delete one early, and keep any in a highlight on your profile.
- Drafts save unfinished posts; Archive hides a published post from everyone without deleting it; both are in the left rail.
- Edit a post from its menu (it is marked “edited”); pin one to the top of your profile; view insights (views, likes, replies, reposts) on your own posts.
Messages and calls
- Start a conversation from someone's profile or the compose button in Messages. Groups: “New group” in Messages, then add or remove members and rename from the group's menu; any member can leave.
- Messages support photos, video, audio, documents, locations, live location, contacts, polls and events. Forward, star, react, reply, and see delivery info on your own messages.
- Voice and video calls are in the header of a direct conversation. Calls need both people online in the app; the other side sees an incoming-call banner to accept or decline. Calls are peer-to-peer and never recorded. On some networks a call may not connect if no relay server is configured — the call screen says so.
- Read receipts and activity status are controlled in Settings › Privacy & safety.
NeuralRadar AI
NeuralRadar is the assistant built into NeuralSignal. It can explain, draft, summarise and brainstorm, and it renders charts, tables and documents when a reply calls for them. Pick a model from the header when your settings allow switching; otherwise the default route is shown.
- Every plan has an allowance: messages per 5-hour session, AI actions per week, and messages per month. The counters are in Settings › Usage and in the chat header. When one runs out, the reply says which and when it resets; a higher plan has more.
- Your chat history is saved to your account, so it is there when you sign in on another device. Export it as a Markdown file or delete conversations from the history menu; searching it is on when “Search and reference chats” is on in Settings › NeuralRadar.
- Answers can be wrong. Check anything important before you rely on or publish it.
Plans and billing
- Compare plans and switch in Settings › Plan & billing. Paid plans go through secure checkout; the plan changes when the payment is confirmed, usually within seconds of returning.
- Apply a promo code before checkout to see the discounted price. A free trial, where a plan offers one, is once per account and needs no card.
- Cancel from the same page: you keep the plan until the end of the paid period, then move to Free. Invoices are listed there too.
Safety: report, mute, block
- Report a post, comment, message or account from its overflow (⋯) menu. Choose a reason and add detail if it helps. Reports go to human moderators and the reporter is never revealed.
- Mute hides someone's posts from you without telling them. Block hides you from each other completely — they cannot follow, message or call you. Both are reversible from Settings › Connections and Privacy & safety.
- A private account only shows posts to followers you approve; requests wait in Settings › Connections.
Appeals
If a post is removed, you receive a warning, or your account is restricted, the action is listed in Settings › Moderation with an Appeal button. Write what happened and a moderator who did not make the original decision reviews it. If your account is suspended you cannot sign in, so use the public appeal form with your username and password instead. Each decision can be appealed once; you are notified of the outcome.
Your account and data
- Change your username or password, see signed-in devices and sign them out, in Settings › Account.
- Two-factor authentication: turn it on in Settings › Account, scan the QR code with any authenticator app, confirm a code, and save the recovery codes — they are shown once and each works one time if you lose the app.
- Forgot your password? Use “Forgot password?” on the sign-in page with your username or email. The code is emailed to the address on the account and expires in 15 minutes; an account with no email cannot be reset this way — contact support.
- Download everything held about you as JSON from Settings › Privacy & safety. Deactivate (hide) or permanently delete your account from Settings › Danger zone.
